It’s been the saying for the past 5 or so year in the SEO industry, “Content is King”. This saying really should be revised to “Unique Content is King” especially now that Google is removing pages from its indexes for copyright infringement according to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Of course it’s no secret that Google has been trying to avoid indexing duplicate content for years, but now we can see when pages of our sites have been removed through Google’s Webmaster Tools for copyright infringement.

As reported on SEOMoz today, many webmasters are experiencing having pages within their sites removed from Google for having copyright material on their websites. Google will remove pages of your site from their indexes after someone files a DMCA Complaint.

To avoid having your website removed from Google, do us all a favor and always have unique content on your site. Remember the saying, “Unique Content is King”.
